CAT’s BODY
Cats are quite similar to their 34 million-year-old ancient forebears. The skeleton of a cat comprises about 230 bones. (There are 206 in a human being.) KITTENS AND CATS
By the age of nine or ten months, a female cat can bear kittens. Before giving birth, she carries her baby for roughly nine weeks. A litter of four kittens is considered average.
Eight to ten days after birth, kittens’ eyes open. Their only source of nutrition for the first six weeks is their mother’s milk. The mother then begins bringing them food scraps. She has a chance of bringing back live prey.
Any cat will hunt since it is in their nature. Kittens learn how to hunt by watching their mother and emulating her actions. This is how they learn to be effective “mousers.”
